What style of fighting or Who do you think could beat Machida?? I mean the guy has some pretty sick moves.. Game On - MSG Fight Club: Lyoto Machida's Knockouts, Kicks and Signature Moves

Well we'll definately see if shogun has the style very soon!
I don't think there is a specific fighting style that is better/ or would beat Machida, as many fighters have said, he isn't unbeatable. It will just take preparation and training on his flaws!!

I could not believe that wasn't a win!

Seems the secret to beating machida is awkward rhythm. Rua could walk up pretty close with machida not being able to predict when he'd strike

Totally agree. I just rewatched it, thinkin that maybe I was wrong. But he was dominant throughout.

By the end of it, machida looks totally defeated

i was there and the crowd acted appallingly toward it though! they both trained really hard and both gave there all and i don't think anymore than voicing an oppinion is fair!
Ok so its hard to deny that Rua was more aggressive in the fight, but for anyone that actually trains in a traditional martial art knows that defence is taught over offence! and this is what Machida did, he went back to his roots instead of fighting the way hes had to learn just to keep arrogant fans entertained!
End of the day, to be the best you've got to beat the best! and Rua didn't BEAT Lyoto.

Ok guys, there is no specific "style" that will beat Machida. He is a smart fighter and gets out of the way of a lot of punches, kicks, knees, etc.. He looks for what he needs to recognize what's coming and reacts accordingly. It's basic in any Martial Arts form to watch the body language and eyes. There are so many things that give away what a person is about to do. He can be defeated and is penetrable, but it takes homework and preperation to win against someone such as him as well as patience, Yes, Patience....
