I just read an interesting interview with Enzo where he openly talks about his passion for MMA. Apparently he regularly trains his ground game, but it still needs improving.
If he did ever move over to the MMA scene he would slip straight in to the 205 (light-heavy weight) division with the likes of Quinton Jackson, Rashad Evans, Lyoto Machida and Chuck Liddell. He currently fights at 200lbs in boxing and I very much doubt he'd be able to cut down to the 185lbs to be able to fight as a MMA middleweight. His advantages would be his speeds, punching power, height and reach, but his chin is a little suspect after recent fights and its anyones guess as to how good he can defend against kicks, take-downs and submissions! You can read the article here: Boxing: Enzo: MMA offer was bad-timing | Setanta Whats everyone elses thoughts? |

Did anyone watch Enzo's fight last night?
That KO by Haye has definitely affected his mindset. A lot of fighters struggle to regain form after a knock out, especially if it's the first one in their career. I think the thought of being knocked out again must constantly be in the back of their mind which distracts their game plan. The confident Enzo of 2007 would have destroyed that guy. Maybe time to seriously consider a switch to MMA? |

I saw Enzo on the Calzaghe undercard and he looked outstanding.
Unfortunately he no longer looks like he can compete at the very highest level in boxing and if he hasn't been training for MMA in the past it is unlikely he will be able to transfer his skills effectively. When the competative edge has gone, it is almost impossible to regain. Personally I don't want to see failed boxers compete in MMA, if anything I want to see those at the top of their game in both sports face each other.
