Default Hi

Hey,

I'm a 21 yr old student, just started training muay thai at Glasgow Uni last week.

Didn't realise how unfit I'd got until then, looking forward to going back tonight.

Any tips for a beginner?

Cheers,

Kev

Cheers,

Ye, after seeing how unfit I've become (either that or it's just harder than other sports) I realise how much I need to make sure I keep at it.

Muay Thai is pretty taxing, the only advice really I could give you is make sure you do extra conditioning and cardio, and loads of stretching.

Oh and getting a bag, some good thai pads and a training partner for out of gym sessions isnt a bad idea either.

I'm a Muay Thai person and I speak through bitter experience and badly need to take my own advice. But the quickest way of getting your arse kicked is to neglect your cardio work. Get skipping and hit the roads. Good luck.

Cheers guys,

Ye the muay thai training is only once a week so I'll need to do other stuff to keep myself improving.

One last question, any advice on how to avoid blisters on the balls of the feet/toes?

It's not really a big deal, but I had 2 big blisters last week, and the skin got ripped off tonight and I can see other ones formed a bit deeper.

As I said, not really a big deal, just a bit of a nuisance.

I was just thinkin next time I'll maybe tape up my big toes but if anyone's got a better idea

You dont want to tape up blisters that will make them worse wait till there are healed then tape your feet so they dont come back or you could wear socks but that looks abit daft
