Default Hello All

My name is Chris and up until recently lived in Bristol. My fighting history includes Kickboxing, Kung Fu and I did a year of MMA with Kevin O'hagan (you can search him on google).

Haven't really trainined for a year or so becuase of working 2 jobs and family commitments, but just moved to Newquay where I train at Koncept Fighting Gym and and want to fight in MMA competitions. So hard at the training now.

WOW!! Talk about making an entrance Chris!! Welcome to the forum mate! You've blitz'd our forum in like 2 days... 46 posts! Awesome

I was just reading about your background... Kickboxing is a great base form to build on. A lot of great MMA fighters have a Kickboxing background, such as Chuck Liddell. I don't know much about Kung Fu but that will be very useful as well no doubt. Sometimes having something a bit different in your game like Kung Fu can make all the difference. Take Loyota Machida for example, not many fighters are used to his Karate style as they don't train and spar with many Karate experts, so it makes him very illusive and dangerous.

Perry was telling me about the training log/journal you asked for. I think that's a great idea and we'll definitely add this at some point this week! I've just started MMA training with Perry so we can get involved with that. I'm also about to start Muay Thai as well.

What do you think people should write in their log/journals? Training and exercise routines, progression, food and supplement in-take etc?

Great to have you on the forum Chris! We need more guys like you

Look forward to speaking with you some more!

No worries. I'm on a lot of forums and know they can be quiet from time to time so just trying to make it busier

As for the training logs, everything you've just said really. It can help people keep track of their own routines and the positive steps they've taken. Also, to look back and think wow I came this far after being able to do 'just' that at the beginning. It's good primarily as a self motivational tool, but also to help motivate others.

We all get stuck in a rut at some point or other and seeing what someone else may do different is enough to inspire maybe the one adjustment to getting back on track.

Hi Chris!

Already come across a number of fantastic posts from you and look forward to having some interesting discussions and debates with you.

I'm just about to take up MMA and BJJ training myself at the ripe old age of 32! Given your background I'm sure you will be well placed to offer great advice and insight.

Catch you around...

Thanks for my welcome welcomes

Haven't really been around for a couple of weeks and not much training

However, hit the gym today and did some weights and felt stronger and
then a good bag workout. Probably take me another couple of weeks to get back on track. lol
