I just think its not as effective as other techniques. Any fighter with high strenth should be able to counter wrestling with out to much technique.

Don't forget that Kickboxing is pretty much the same as Thai Boxing including elbows and knees.

Default I would still go for the best

BJJ and Boxing. Both discipline is a perfect formula.... grappling, throw and submissions for BJJ and precision striking with power for boxing. beautiful.

i read an interesting article in MMA unlimited the other month about how BJJ is dominant on the ground . Boxing muay thai dominating standing however it is the wrestler that decides were the fight goes making wrestling the most dominating and important style

I like that, but I think if you have enough technical ability in bjj you should be able to tie the wrestle into a submission. Look at wilks, demarques ok not a wrestler, but pretty much submission after submission from anywhere. And as bisping quality of striking against leben at ufc 89 showed of you don't let them near they can't go toe to toe let alone attampt to grab you.

For me , Savate , BJJ , Freestyle Wrestling .

I started off with Judo , Sambo and Classical Jujitsu ( it kinda judo , karate and BJJ put together ) and then later on Freestyle Wrestling , Boxing , Savate and BJJ

I do not have a muay thai background due to the fact that the footwork from muay thai doesn't blend well with boxing as compare with savate which use the exact same footwork .
