Isn't that partly the aim of Judo? To use a takedown/throw and land it in a position of control to quickly move into submission technique? I may be wrong - Im new!

Personally for me - Judo, BJJ and Muay Thai. Perfect combo for take downs, ground fighting and 8 limb striking!

I've always wondered, have there ever been any big fighters that use krav maga? seems like it'd be pretty effective in the MMA situation. Don't think I've ever seen it.

Nowadays everyone just does Muay thai, BJJ and wrestling (with a wee bit of judo). I think that's part of the reason that machida's been so successful, nobody knows how to fight a striker that isn't using muay thai.

It always really surprises me how few of the eastern martial arts have come into MMA
