Default Your gym routines

How do you train? I know every one works in different ways, and different things work for different people.

At the moment i work the follow.

Day One
Biceps and Back

Day Two
Triceps and Chest

Day Three
Cardio and Shoulders

Day four
Rest

Days one and two work outs I tend to do 4 sets, 20 reps of several different exercises, ususally 4/5 exercises per muscle group. Including a warm up run/ cross trainer.

Day Three I use running machine 10mins, cross trainer 10mins. 4/ exercises on shoulders with 4sets, 20reps.

I also includes some exercise I have found which are UFC (TUF) based exercises.

They include jabs, hooks and upper cut movements with wieghts. Ground and pound exercises with light weights, medicine balls etc.

2 days of Thai Boxing. We've got a new Brazilian instructor for our BJJ. 3 days weights as heavy as I can between 6-8 reps working on a pyramid system. On each of these weight days I also spend half an hour after working on the bag, sit-ups etc.

I add a couple of days swimming also and include surfing to the mix when the waves are good.

Oh, I'm also a doorman so get the extra exercise doing that like last night when I slammed a guy into his own piss outside, put him in a choker and almost put him asleep as he was trying to repeatedly smack me in the head. It was so funny the Manager of the venue burned a copy onto a disc lol.

Cool, i looked at the Pyramid system, but opted for endurance as wel as strength. I used to 'train to fail'. As for martial arts im still looking. Probably try a place in north wales BBJ and the wolfslair in widness as only 30 mins away.

I had a video of my mate working in a bar of cctv, attacked by drunk and two right hard jabs put him on his face, then he was dragged out side.

Being a sobber, youve won half the battle

SIFU you bloody bully!! LOL Can I have a copy of the Video?

I try to go to the gym every day mon to fri, but more often than not I manage only 4 days. I tend to do 30 mins cardio and work a different muscle group each day, in no particular order. I do 3 sets of 12 reps on at least 4 different exercises inc free weights and machines (pyramid). I also do around 100 sit ups/crunches/leg raises every time I go to the gym, normally in sets of 20 - 25.

Then on a Thurs I train MMA for 2 hours (soon I will be doing Muay Thai on a tuesday too) and motocross on a sat or sun for the whole day.

I dont ever really go to the gym at weekends and I pretty much eat rubbish all weekend, so probably ruining all my hard work through the week, that s my only downfall.

Just remember, that you can eat as much and whatever you want in one day and you will never add a 1lb of bodyfat becuase of it. Have a cheat day and feelgood about it.

Good idea. Get a good boxing base to move on. You'll really enjoy the kickboxing when you get to it.

Definately take him up on that. There's nothing coaches like more than someone who is genuinely keen. Just don't run out of steam and lose interest within a few months
