Went boxing tonight. Hard work in the heat.

Enjoyed it tho, had a spar at the end with the trainer and ate two punches ha!

Said it was pay back for the right hook i caught him with.

Looking forward to improve my technque and strikes.

Boxing is great for training, you need incredible stamina and I think anyone with boxing experience will always make a great MMA fighter becuase lets face it, punching and stamina are pretty important in any fight.

Saying that, I think it would frustrate me a bit, coz if someone punched me i wouldnt be able to help myself wanting kick, elbow, knee, and take down for some ground and pound. LOL

A definate string to the bow though in MMA!!

I know what you mean perry. I am alot taller than my first sparing partner so just kept jabbing and moving, following a hook after my jab when I could, land one very good combo that way.
But when we tied up I was a little lost. Only being able to punch, and with a shorter guy I felt very open to upcuts :-(
knees and take downs would be the option in mma. But I think with more practice and expeience later on I will look at muay thai forthe clinches. As for now I'm enjoying training fast and hard strikes with good technique.

Good luck to ya mate, if your enjoying it and it saves having to watch the likes of eastenders and big brother then thats cool.

Like i said, boxing is a good sport and if you do decide to take a different approach later on and get into Muay Thai or some other martial arts, its a good base to have.
